General Manager (f/m/x)

CellAg Germany is an independent non-profit organization that informs about the environmental, health, economic and ethical benefits of cellular agriculture and connects stakeholders. Cellular agriculture is the process of producing animal products directly from cells instead of animals. To increase the success and impact of the project, we are now looking for a Generalist as General Manager (f/m/d).

Tasks: Relationship building and maintenance with political actors, PR & media, community building and member support, optimization of internal processes, cooperation with external service providers, fundraising, support of the board of directors in their duties, design and implementation of a key performance indicator system.

Location: Remote with occasional travel (mainly Berlin).

Working hours: 20 - 40h/week (individual, part- or full-time)

Duration: Initially limited to one year

CellAg stands for Cellular Agriculture. This refers to the process of producing animal products directly from cells instead of animals. Cellular Agriculture uses the elementary building blocks of nature - cells - and cultivates them into real animal products without the need to raise and slaughter animals. As a result, CellAg has great potential to reduce the massive disadvantages of (industrial mass) animal farming. Cellular agriculture is currently developing worldwide into a transformative and emerging industry, which is working on alternatives to animal products, especially in the food industry, but also in the textile, raw material or cosmetics industry.

Responsibilities

The General Manager (f/m/d) can expect a very diverse position with exciting tasks and a lot of potential to develop in the different areas by learning by doing as well as to build up an exclusive network. In cooperation with our volunteer members you will work on the following tasks in particular:

• Identifying relevant political actors, establishing contacts, building and maintaining relationships, raising awareness about CellAg, communicating the demands of other stakeholder groups (e.g. science and business) to politicians.
• PR & Media: Contacting, building and maintaining relationships with journalists to increase coverage of CellAg, official statements / reactions to external publications on CellAg.
• Community building and member support: design and implementation of offers such as monthly meetings, info-events with external speakers, etc.
• Optimization of internal processes (e.g. workflows, documentation)
• Collaboration with external service providers for the realization of selected projects, such as the further professional development of our website including job board, event calendar and other offers for the CellAg industry
• Fundraising: to secure long-term financing, relevant funding options should be regularly sought, evaluated and pursued
•  Support of the board in its duties (e.g. organization of the general meeting, accounting, budgeting and financial planning etc.)
• Design and implementation of a key performance indicator system to measure the success and impact of the association as well as the general manager position

Your profile

• A generalist - a person who is able to perform a variety of tasks in parallel
• You can identify with our strategic goals and do your best to multiply the success and impact of our organization.
• Previous experience in the areas of responsibility and/or the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new tasks and take on responsibility
• High degree of personal responsibility and self-organization
• Strong communication skills and good verbal and written expression (esp. German, also English)

Nice to have

• A degree that enables you to understand and explain the scientific context of cellular agriculture
• A network to relevant political actors and/or journalists
• Experience in working for non-profit organizations
