Job Opportunity | Executive Assistant
The Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) is a statewide public non-profit affordable housing organization that works in concert with the Governor and the state Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) to help increase the supply of affordable housing in Massachusetts. MHP focuses its efforts in three main areas: Community Assistance, Rental Development and Homeownership.
The Executive Assistant will be part of MHP’s legal team and will provide high-level administrative support to the Executive Director, General Counsel and other professional staff, working independently to anticipate and perform a wide range of complex administrative duties. Requires superior communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a variety of internal and external teams and contacts. Involves quickly comprehending the Massachusetts Housing Partnership framework, state governmental agencies, and basic real estate concepts.
Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to: managing arrangements for meetings of the Directors of MHP, including the production and distribution of briefing materials and the keeping of minutes; assisting with MHP’s financing of rental properties, including production of MHP commitment letters and delivery of loan collateral documents; serving as liaison to DHCD for DHCD loan programs administered by MHP, including managing the execution of grant and loan documents and the funding of requisitions; and assisting MHP’s Director of Public affairs by updating and maintaining MHP’s mailing list and providing support for MHP-sponsored events.
Qualifications: Applicants must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining consistently high quality work. Proven resourcefulness, curiosity, and ability to work independently in solving questions and executing tasks is required. Exceptional word processing and project management capabilities as well as strong writing skills. Professional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required. Discretion in handling sensitive and/or public matters. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and composure, translatable by both email and telephone correspondence. Demonstrated organizational skills and experience in developing and working within clerical systems. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred. Minimum of three years’ experience working in a professional office environment required; experience as an Executive Assistant or similar role is strongly preferred.
