About Rebuilding Together Northeast Ohio

In our affiliate’s service area, many thousands of community members, a significant portion of whom are over 60, are living below the poverty line or are otherwise cost burdened and unable to make the repairs or modifications needed to remain safe and healthy in their homes, and these numbers are only increasing. Many underserved neighborhoods lack appropriate green spaces, public safety, education, and other critical mechanisms that support safety and health. Our affiliate will touch more 1400 low-income homeowners in the next twelve months, most of whom are living in substandard housing hindering their safety and health, but with our existing capacity we are only able to touch a very small percentage today’s need.

Using Rebuilding Together's unique community revitalization partnership and delivery model, our affiliate is rapidly building capacity to meet this emerging challenge, networking with government and community organizations of all types to create community based partnerships which empower volunteers and persons in need while leveraging available public and private resources. Our goal is to be known locally, regionally, and nationally as a leader in addressing community involvement and housing aspects of the need to provide high quality, real, and lasting solutions. We are in great need of passionate difference makers to help us raise awareness and empower the community to solve these challenges by connecting volunteers and community organizations to Rebuilding Together and the existing need so as to create a sustainable model for staff, board members, and our community partners.

Rebuilding Together works to strengthen the lives of our most vulnerable communities by providing low-income homeowners with critical home repairs, accessibility modifications and energy-efficient upgrades. Rebuilding Together's local affiliates and nearly 100,000 volunteers complete about 10,000 rebuild projects each year. We believe that everyone deserves to live in a safe and healthy home. As we help to stabilize and revitalize neighborhoods across the country, our lasting impact extends beyond each home.

On average, our homeowners live at or below the poverty level and are forced to choose between food, medicine and shelter needs. We provide these critical home repairs at no cost to qualified homeowners. Rebuilding Together is often the last resort to preserving their homeownership – their only personal asset.
