YouthCare works to end youth homelessness and to ensure that young people are valued for who they are and empowered to achieve their potential. Founded in 1974, YouthCare was one of the first shelters to serve runaway and homeless youth on the West Coast. The goal was to help young people find safety today, and build a future for tomorrow. Over four decades, we’ve defined best practices and developed programs that are a national standard for excellence. Using a youth-centered approach, we ensure that young people experiencing homelessness ages 12-24 have the hope, skills, and confidence to gain long-term stability.


YouthCare is currently seeking a Career Coordinator - BTEP for Employment and EducationUnder the supervision of the Barista Training Education (BTEP) Program Supervisor, the Career Coordinator works directly with program participants, other service providers, and employers and community members interested in employing and/or providing internships for participants. YouthCare's Orion Center provides a range of occupational skills training, internships, high school and GED completion and college preparation for vulnerable young people and young people experiencing homelessness in Seattle-King County. The Career Coordinator position will work primarily with young people participating in BTEP which YouthCare operates in conjunction with FareStart. This position shares the following duties and works in coordination with another Career Coordinator as well as the Program Supervisor.

Successful candidates will have:

·        2 or more years of experience in an employment or educational setting.

·        1 or more years of successfully working with vulnerable young people or young people in crisis, during outreach efforts or in residential setting.

·        High School Diploma or GED

·        Experience and credentials must comply with program contract requirements.
