Byte Back is seeking a Recruitment & Community Outreach Manager to join the growing team of Byte Back a dynamic nonprofit providing innovative tech training that has earned national attention and support. The ideal candidate understands and connects with our mission. They are a problem solver and passionate about serving often overlooked communities with transformational educational & career opportunities. We seek a strong relationship builder with corporate, sales, and/or nonprofit experience that can be applied to grassroots and remote networking opportunities to develop partnerships and strengthen the student recruitment pipeline. The Recruitment & Community Outreach Manager reports to the Chief Program Officer.


About Byte Back

Byte Back provides a pathway of inclusive tech training that leads to living-wage careers. As a leader in digital inclusion since 1997, the nonprofit serves more than 500 adults per year in the Washington, DC area and Baltimore. Byte Back students are predominantly people of color, women, and unemployed or underemployed adults. In 2019, 57 graduates were hired, earning $23,463 more per year than before Byte Back training. Byte Back's innovative approach and leaders have been featured locally and nationally, at SXSW, TEDx, "The Root 100," Washington Business Journal, Voice of America, and NBC Washington.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead Outreach Efforts

  • Develop and implement outreach strategies
  • Use creativity, innovation, and relationship-building skills to develop successful strategies that will meet recruitment and admissions goals
  • Recruit prospective students through various outreach methods, including events, strategic partner relationships, and using digital tools such as social media (in collaboration with the Communications department)
  • Conduct Information Sessions to introduce external audiences to Byte Back's training pathways
  • Ensure that monthly recruitment target is achieved

Oversee Admissions Process

  • Oversee the admissions process from application to enrollment
  • Constantly seek opportunities to improve the admissions experience for applicants and increase efficiency for admissions staff
  • Ensure that monthly admissions target is achieved
  • Manage an Admissions Specialist

Data Management

  • Track prospective and enrolled students from application to enrollment in Salesforce
  • Develop and utilize reports in Salesforce to track progress towards goals
  • Audit admissions data to ensure data accuracy and quality
  • Cross collaborate with other staff and departments to ensure that intake and enrollment data is consistent with funding requirements

  • Proven experience building rapport with diverse populations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree, some college, or demonstrated relevant experience
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Familiarity with the DC area, local higher education institutions, and the workforce development/nonprofit community
  • Strong data management skills and attention to detail
  • Social media and email marketing experience desirable
  • Experience developing and managing partnerships
  • Occasionally attend weekend or evening events

Pay: $53,000 - $57,000 per year


COVID-19 Considerations and Employment Location: Due to COVID-19, most of Byte Back's employees are working remotely. The Recruitment & Community Outreach Manager will split time between remote and in-person work at the Washington, DC headquarters.
