Provides information to individuals with immigration inquiries and requests, in person and by phone, including: (a) description of EBECC’s immigration services, how and when to access these services, and the fees charged for specific services; (b) information about documents and other materials to bring to appointments; (c) basic eligibility requirements for family petitions, political asylum, NACARA, TPS and citizenship. As applicable, schedules appointments with other immigration staff.

Provide immigration case-management support by performing address changes with USCIS, assisting with the resolution of client case-specific inquiries, and assisting walk-in clients with document drop-off and other client direct services.

Provides clerical support to immigration and senior staff.Files materials into the files of immigration and clients and assists with maintenance of program records for the immigration and citizenship programs by entering specified data into computer. Assist clients when staff is not currently available, and alerts appropriate staff to urgent client needs in a timely courteous manner.

Level of Language Proficiency

Fluent English and Spanish a must. Paralegal or legal assistance certification a plus. One year clerical experience in the immigration department of a non-profit agency or in a firm practicing immigration law. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of clients, face-to-face and on the telephone. Excellent organizational skills. Detail-orientation. Strong computer skills, with knowledge of Word and Excel. Typing skills desirable. Verbal and written fluency in Spanish and English.
