Girls Inc. of New York City seeks an experienced and effective Operations Manager who is committed to creating positive and supportive environments for employees and girls. The Operations Manager will perform various administrative and finance functions. This high-visibility, high-impact role works closely with the VP of Operations in the development and execution of all HR, Administrative, and Operational strategies, policies and practices.
Human Resources: employee onboarding and new hire screening and documentation process, administer employee benefits, assist with employee relations and respond to general inquiries, ensure compliance with federal, state and city policies and processes, HR records management and retention
Finance: process bi-monthly payroll, accounts payable invoice payments and bookkeeping, employee expense reconciliation, bank deposits, provide support in the execution of annual audits, financial records management and retention
Office and General Administration:
Support Board meetings and other organization meetings and events, IT/Phones support and vendor management, general office services and facilities support, office files management
·Bachelor’s degree required; minimum 3-5 years related experience, preferably in human resources, bookkeeping, office management or related field. Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and desire to improve overall systems and processes to ensure smooth operations
·Meticulous attention to accuracy and detail. Deadline-oriented, organized and reliable, strong decision-making with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
·Strong initiative and resourcefulness in initiating and following through with tasks and projects. Ability to juggle multiple projects, keep track of a wide array of tasks and deliver on deadlines.
·High proficiency with office and web-based applications, including Microsoft Office, ADP, QuickBooks and the ability to learn new programs quickly. Experience creating and implementing office systems a plus.
·Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
·Able to generate trust with colleagues. High professional ethical standards and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
