POSITION:                 Youth Department Program Assistant and Tutoring Coordinator

WAGE:                       $33,000 - 39,000 per year

LOCATION:               IRCO Asian Family Center, IRCO Africa House and various school locations

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The IRCO Youth Department Program Assistant is responsible for supporting daily operations of IRCO’s culturally specific and responsive school linked programs through office support work, data tracking and management support, developing and/or maintaining public relations documents, volunteer recruitment, screening, training and supervision, support with direct service to youth and families during program activities. This person will work closely with the department manager and school linked team. This position with be half time volunteer and tutoring coordination and half time program assistant work.

 

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

·        Maintain and order office supplies, instructional inventory, youth library, and other key youth department supplies

·        Support with maintaining office and storage spaces in alignment with IRCO policies and procedures

·        Maintain youth staff contact list, programming calendar, and other department wide documents

·        Work with youth managers and development team to develop/maintain program PR materials such as flyers, brochures and social media posts

·        Support with logistics related to staff development and training such as securing space reservations and assisting with refreshments

·        Work with IRCO’s general volunteer coordinator to recruit, screen and train and supervise department volunteers and interns in line with best practices

·        Assist with after-school groups 2-3x week, leading large and small group instruction

·        Assist with managing program data management, batch uploading into agency ETO database, and other client data management


QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience

·        Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

·        Knowledge of best practices related to volunteer recruitment and management

·        1+ year working in a school setting

·        Knowledge and experience with youth group instruction

·        Knowledge of youth department best practices (restorative justice, culturally responsive teaching and lesson planning, PBIS, etc.)

·        Knowledge of best practices related to working with immigrant and refugee youth

·        1+ year of volunteer supervisory experience desired

·        Bilingual preferred
