The World Justice Project (WJP) Rule of Law Index team is seeking a part-time Rule of Law Research Consultant (Latin America and the Caribbean) to work remotely. This is a current vacancy, with an immediate start.
Scope of Work: The Consultant will assist the WJP Rule of Law Index team with country-specific research and data triangulation as it pertains to the WJP Rule of Law Index 2021 report. The Consultant's main work responsibility is reviewing and analyzing currently available cross-country data on the rule of law to produce Third Party Source Qualitative Cross Check reports for countries and jurisdictions to be included in the WJP Rule of Law Index 2021 report. The Consultant will be assigned to a region based on expertise and language capabilities. The Consultant is expected to complete all countries in the assigned region. Qualitative Cross Check reports are to be produced according to the template provided to the Consultant by the WJP. This work will be done in close coordination with the Rule of Law Index staff. The Consultant will report directly to Alicia Evangelides, Co-Director for the WJP Rule of Law Index.

The WJP will hire up to seven consultants to cover all regions and countries included in the WJP Rule of Law Index. Consultants may be hired to cover multiple regions, based on expertise and language capabilities. Qualifications: This position is open to individuals with a Bachelor's or Master's degree with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. The candidate should demonstrate excellent attention to detail and strong writing and research skills. Regional expertise, international experience, and foreign language skills are preferred. The ideal candidate will have completed coursework in international affairs, social sciences, journalism, economics, policy studies, regional studies, law, or related field.
Successful applicants will have at least two to three years of relevant experience, and be bright, highly dependable, and motivated with a strong academic record and an enthusiastic interest in the rule of law. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:
