The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History is seeking an Information Technology (IT) Systems Administrator to support our network, computers, and software systems to ensure they are secure, stable, and functional. They will support our technology infrastructure at one physical office and for remote work. The successful candidate will have strong analytical abilities, diagnostic skills, and technical aptitude. They will be well-organized and detail-oriented. They will have a solid foundation in IT troubleshooting methodologies and can stay current on the technical knowledge needed to support new and upgraded equipment, software, and systems.
In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities outlined below, the Systems Administrator will be responsible for documenting and tracking various hardware and software in our asset management system. They will use the system to track our hardware and software assets, and manage allocations and maintenance. They will work with external contractors on an ongoing basis to address vulnerabilities and maintain the security of GLI’s infrastructure.
The Systems Administrator will assist the Assistant Director of Technical Services with Salesforce-related tasks. They will also coordinate with the Technical Support Manager to resolve issues involving end-users in our client-facing technologies, e.g., our Learning Management System (TalentLMS) and our Single Sign On application (Auth0) when needed.
This role reports to the Assistant Director of Technical Services. The position is based in New York City. Some weekend and evening hours are required.
