IHI Therapy Center (Institute for Human Identity) is looking for a PART-TIME fee-for-service therapist to join our friendly group of LGBTQ affirmative clinicians.
About Us: IHI Therapy Center is New York's premier LGBTQ psychotherapy center - providing affordable LGBTQ affirmative therapy that fosters personal growth and freedom from traditional gender, sexual orientation or cultural bias. After leading a successful struggle in 1973 with the American Psychiatric Association to have homosexuality removed from the DSM, the founders of IHI recognized the need for a therapy center that could address people's emotional problems while respecting and fostering their unique identities.
About the position: We are looking for a therapist who can take on a caseload of 6-12 clients per week. The hours worked would be of your choosing within IHI's normal hours of operation.
We are particularly interested in hiring clinicians with experience working with: communities of color, LGBTQ communities, trauma, grief, substance abuse, anxiety disorders, sexual compulsions, eating disorders, and issues related to body image. Our clientele are adults ages 18 – 70. Remuneration is $45-$57 depending on licensure (more for couples, groups and intakes).
A minimum of 6 weekly clients is required for this position.
Weekly supervision is included by IHI. IHI also provides clinical training opportunities throughout the year.
