Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Board and volunteer development including working with the chapter president and nominating committee in developing, recruiting and engaging local boards and committees and recruiting volunteers who will be door opener and doers for our fundraising campaigns and programs.
  • Build strong relationships with leaders in the community as well as internally with board members and all volunteers.
  • Oversee the execution and growth of the Georgia Chapter special events, Take Steps, Team Challenge and Spin4, working collaboratively with the National support team across all campaigns.
  • Qualify, identify, cultivate, solicit and secure Individual Major Gifts and Foundation giving in partnership with National Advancement team
  • Collaboration, cultivation, identification and recruitment of revenue partners to maximize impact on special events, Take Steps walks and third party special events.
  • Execute fundraising techniques to meet revenue targets through special events, Take Steps, individual and foundation gifts and other chapter activities.
  • In cooperation with the Take Steps National Manager and Take Steps staff help to identify volunteer walk leadership and corporate sponsorship
  • Coordinate events, partner with outlets and participate in enterprise events such as GI visits and donor events.

  • College degree or combination of education and experience.
  • Five to seven years in not-for-profit fundraising or association management, preferably within a health-related organization.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful fundraising experience that includes special events, corporate/foundation giving, individual major gifts, donor cultivation, public relations and stewardship.
  • Previous experience in the Identifying, recruiting, engaging and partnering with volunteers
