GENERAL DUTIES:
· Responsible for the daily program and classroom curriculum
· Works with Assistant Teacher under the supervision of the Educational Director and in cooperation with Social Services.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Plan daily group and individual activities to help reach goals and needs of children.

· Make and document observations of child
· Sets goals for each child and for the classroom. (with assistance from the IEP for special Ed children)
· Use teaching methods that will foster emotional, social, physical and cognitive
· Responsible for classroom preparation, including:
Preparing of room and materials../ Planning for group and individuals../ Completing administrative work such as anecdotal records and lesson plans, meal counts, attendance, child health records, etc.../ Participating in staff, team and curriculum meetings.
· Supervise children, staff and volunteers in their classroom and ensure a safe and healthy environment for all.
· Maintains respect and confidentiality of information as it pertains to all records, as well as, knowledge and discussion of children, families and fellow staff members.
· Participates in at least two parent/ teacher conferences and completion of progress reports. (Per program year).
· Participates in making of at least two home visits and completion of (per program year).
· Ensure the basic physical well being and safety of each
· Ensure that meals and snack are served in a manner that provides both educational and social experiences, which includes eating the same meals as the children while sitting with them at meal
