Director of Client Services

The Brigid Alliance seeks to add a Director of Client Services to its team to help our organization enter its next phase of growth beckoned by an increasing need for travel support among abortion seekers in the US.

About:

The Brigid Alliance (501c3) is a nation-wide referral-based service that provides client centered support to individuals who must travel long distances for later abortion care, and who cannot afford to do so. We customize and fund itineraries that include transportation, lodging, connections to volunteers, meals, childcare reimbursement; and support our clients by staying in touch with them throughout their travels. We work in partnership with independent and nationally affiliated clinics, abortion funds, local and regional practical support organizations.

Since launching in August of 2018, we have assisted almost 1,000 clients from 45 states. We are a crucial part of the reproductive health ecosystem connecting the geographic and metaphorical dots between policy, providers, practice, and patient. By alleviating the logistical barriers and financial obstacles of access to care, we are ensuring that everyone has the choice protected by Roe v. Wade—no matter where they live.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the direct service team; supervising and supporting 2 department staff
  • Providing direct services to clients whose needs are best served by a LMSW;
  • Ensuring ongoing maintenance of pristine records, including managing and updating client database;
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with current and potential partners (clinics, practical support orgs.) within and outside of our direct network
  • Participating in ongoing monitoring and evaluation of services;
  • Directing the client engagement program;
  • Collaborating with ED to identify and implement areas of improvement in Brigid’s operations and programming;
  • Ongoing collaboration across the organization, including participating in projects and strategic development with other departments (Development, Communications, Operations), as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Licensed Master Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker;
  • Must have a deep understanding of the intersections of reproductive, racial, and disability justice;
  • Identifies as a member of and/or has experience working with marginalized communities (Black folks and communities of color, Native/Indigenous communities, LGBTQ+, rural communities, economically disadvantaged people, immigrants);
  • 2+ years direct experience with supervising direct services and staff;
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience with database management or use;
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects;
  • An adaptable, problem-solver, who is creative, self-disciplined and self-motivated;
  • Excels in collaboration as part of a larger network of people and organizations;
  • Experience with management practices that empower staff and promote a healthy team environment.

Desired

  • Knowledge of the landscape of legislative, political, legal issues regarding abortion access;
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish;
  • Experience with Telehealth practices or service provision;
  • Experience with crisis management or intervention.
