Description

Habitat for Humanity Newark, Inc. is currently seeking a Family Services Coordinator to join our dynamic and growing non-profit organization.

Job Functions:

·       Hold at least 2 scheduled out of office and 2 in office orientations per month

·       Work with other organizations in the local community to expand community outreach

·       Complete responsibility for the Family Services Intake process including accepting and tracking applications

·       Run credit reports/background checks

·       Process applications, calculate DTI and present completed applications to the Family Services Committee for vote

·       Track HFHN Family Partner Sweat Equity Hours and Monitor families’ closing funds

·       Refer families to courses for financial training and closing cost assistance programs

·       Provide families with all necessary documentations including pre-closing binder, and closing related documents

·       Coordinate closing with attorney’s office

·       Coordinate house dedication for new partner families with director of fund development

·       Update Monthly delinquency report and all other weekly family services related reports and send delinquency notice letters to families as needed

·       Maintain communication with all partner families as needed including addressing repair requests, and resolving any other issues with the guidance of senior management, and act as liaison between Partner Families and Property Manager

·       Work with our Neighborhood Revitalization Coordinator and attend NR meetings and events as needed

·       Assist with the Critical Repairs Program and qualify families for Critical Repairs Program

Desired Skills:

·       Fluency in English and Spanish is desired

·       Excellent communication and inter-personal skills are a must

·       Intermediate Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is necessary

·       A minimum of a four year college degree is required

This is a 35 hour a week position from Tuesday to Friday with some weekend and evening hours for orientations and presentations at other institutions. The position involves some travelling within the Essex, Hudson and Union County areas as necessary.
