The Foundation is seeking a skilled professional to join its Development Team starting in early 2022.

Title:                  Development Associate

Experience:    2-4+ years of non-profit fundraising, event management, or business development experience

Location:        Natick, MA

Job Status:    Full-Time, Exempt

Reports to:    Director of Development

 

Position Overview:

 The Foundation for MetroWest is seeking a development professional to join its growing development team. The Development Associate role will be instrumental in helping the Foundation grow its individual donor and corporate partner base through foundation events, special initiatives, and outreach to new and existing donors. In this role, you will be responsible for the execution of the strategy, operations, and fundraising activity for events and other special fundraising initiatives, as well as tasked with cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding new prospects to support the work of the Foundation.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Events

o   Manage the planning and execution of Foundation events including:

§ Spring Inspiration Breakfast

§ Community Leadership Reception

§ ONEmetrowest Day

o   In partnership with the development team, execute the fundraising strategies for events

§ Sponsorship and ticket sales

§ Primary oversight of finding new corporate, foundation, and individual donors

§ Manage event committees

o   Oversee marketing and communication strategies for events

§ Work closely with Foundation marketing staff and outside vendors to design themes for Major events; ensure the brand is carried through all materials, including invitation, event program, signage and all media images

§ Oversee the communications materials for promoting events and event content, including photography and videos

o   Develop plan and support implementation of post-event engagement strategy (including portfolio assignments for new prospects)

·        Prospect Development

o   Work closely with the development team to create systems and processes for new prospects; help develop engagement and stewardship strategies for new prospects

o   Cultivate, solicit, and steward new prospects to support the work of the Foundation

o   Manage a portfolio of 50 - 100 prospects and new Foundation donors, with a goal of closing gifts with 25% of portfolio

·        Other Development Events and Fundraising Initiatives

o   Work alongside development team to execute individual and corporate giving initiatives as they pertain to cultivating new prospects

o   Execute all individual and corporate giving events, including but not limited to, house parties and campaign launch events

Qualifications:

·        2-4+ years of nonprofit fundraising or business development experience

·        2-4+ years of event management experience

·        Prior experience communicating and building relationships with nonprofit donors and prospects; or clients in a for-profit setting

·        A competitive, team-oriented mindset

·        Ability to build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships internally and externally

·        High-energy, resourceful, creative, with the ability to be flexible

·        Self-starter who can work independently while also knowing when and how to successfully collaborate with peers

·        Strong organizational and communication skills

·        Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products & prior experience using CRM systems, preferably eTapestry, Blackbaud, or Salesforce

·        Live in or have strong ties to the MetroWest region
