    Description

    National Council for Adoption is seeking an Education Specialist who is detail-oriented and comfortable with using technology to enhance our educational initiatives. While experience with programs like Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, minor video editing, and Zoom is preferred, we also welcome candidates who are generally comfortable with technology and are eager to learn new tools. Training will be provided, but we expect candidates to become proficient and confident in using these tools post-training, with the ability to create visually appealing materials and effectively manage the technical aspects to advance our educational goals.

    A personal or professional connection to adoption or foster care is a plus but not required. Join us in our mission to support adoption education and make a meaningful impact in the lives of families and children.

    Primary responsibilities in this position include:

    • Take the lead in developing training and education pathways for agency staff and clients to strengthen partnerships with agencies and streamline their educational experience.
    • In collaboration with the Grant Program Manager, work to fulfill our federal grant requirements on adoption education of hospital staff.
    • Update content for NCFA’s Intercountry Adoption Journey online training for internationally adopting parents and adoption professionals. Goal: Updated usability, functionality, and content, and bring it to CE compliance.
    • In partnership with the Adoption Education Manager, develop new and expanded content for NCFA’s webinars and training series by researching adoption practice/field needs for topical presentations, help recruit subject matter experts, outline presentation content, and execute webinars. Training topics should align with membership needs, development program’s commitments, and wider community needs. Review course CE compliance and quality control.
    • Field constituent services inquiries from the general public and from NCFA Members via the phone, listserv, and/or email, including LMS support.
    • Work with NCFA’s conference planning team to ensure a successful annual National Adoption Conference and Fall online conference as needed.
    • Work with communications team to get articles published on the website, and promote various NCFA education products on our website, via emails, social media, etc.
    • Ensure education collateral offering social work CE complies with ACE standards.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    A degree in a relevant field and several years of professional experience are required for this position. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, is essential. Candidates must also have the ability to learn, use, and master a variety of additional office software tools as needed. Additionally, a demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work effectively in a collaborative office environment is required.

    This is a full-time in-person position at our office in Alexandria, VA. Remote work may be considered for an exceptional candidate.
