S/he will lead all fundraising initiatives for Spoons Cambodia Organisation (SCO) and its training

café Spoons. S/he will maintain and create valuable donor relationships and

ensure that the organization is meeting the monthly fundraising goals.


Daily Tasks

Planning & Management

  • Prepare a fundraising plan and follow up monthly
  • Prepare the annual budget for income forecast and follow up monthly

Grant research, proposals & management

  • Perform research on foundations and corporations and evaluate prospects for grants
  • Responsible for conducting the full range of grant application activities: prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals
  • Check on progress of all grant proposals once submitted
  • Comply with all grant reporting criteria as required by foundations/corporate donors
  • Work with the finance, admin & program teams to gather the information necessary for reporting.

Donor Stewardship

  • Provide stewardship to current donors with regular written updates (newsletters etc.)
  • Prepare the quarterly newsletter outreach
  • Maintain current donor relations while cultivating new ones
  • Maintain current records on Keela, SCO’s fundraising database, including grant tracking and reporting, and individual donor follow up.

Other Fundraising tasks

  • Track statistics relevant to grant reporting and donor stewardship (program outputs and outcomes, student survey results, etc.)
  • Update and prepare all written organizational materials (incl. annual report, fundraising campaigns, etc.)


Required profile

At least 5 years’ experience in NGOs, international development, or related field

Bachelor Degree required; Master Degree preferred

Experience with grant writing and fundraising essential

Experience living and working in a developing country

Experience in Cambodia or South East Asia is a plus

Fluent in English; Knowledge of Khmer is an asset


Essential Skills

Strong written communication skills in English

Ability to write clear, structured, articulate and persuasive proposals

Knowledge of fundraising information sources

Strong networker with the ability to personally connect with donors


Working Conditions

  • Estimated working hours: 8 hours/week
  • Can be remote work
  • Bi-monthly meeting in person or on line
