Description

Overview: This position reports to the Development Director to assist in organizing and implementing all of Creative Alliance’s fundraising activities. These activities include membership and donor appeals: writing, design and production, creating and personalizing acknowledgements, and maintaining calendars for grants, annual fund, and capital campaign. This person assists with organizing development events and works with volunteer and board committees so they can organize and solicit sponsorships, plan and carry out membership cultivation, and hold fundraising events throughout the year.

Principal Responsibilities:

Capital Campaign – 50%

  • Conduct online research of donors, foundations, and prospects
  • Take meeting minutes at all committee and ad hoc meetings
  • Prepare documents and agendas for all campaign related meetings
  • Prepare donor solicitations and related materials
  • Assist in planning and managing cultivation events
  • Schedule and prepare tours for donors and prospects

Solicitation and Appeals – 25%

  • Assist in establishing financial and numerical annual membership goals and creating the solicitation calendar for the year
  • Coordinate mail and email solicitations including writing compelling fundraising content
  • Develop and maintain a process for timely and personalized donor acknowledgements
  • Administer membership benefits
  • Assist with cultivation events and membership parties

Database Management - 10%

  • Maintain data integrity, updated donor, records and tracking
  • Enter prospective donors and foundations into database
  • Develop tools and systems to further the effectiveness of the database for fundraising tasks

Grants and Sponsorships – 10%

  • Maintain calendar of grant proposals and reporting deadlines
  • Draft proposals using templates or preexisting organizational language
  • Work with staff and volunteers prepare solicitations for donations and sponsorships

General: - 5%

  • Help optimize copy on website, social media, and email to best serve the fundraising goals
  • Staff development events and organization-wide events as needed

Requirements:

  • 2 year’s work experience in fundraising, communications, or public relations
  • CRM or Fundraising Database experience
  • Microsoft Excel and mail merge proficiency

  • Experience with project and events management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
