Communications Assistant – WPO/WPEO


Under the direction of the Director of Communications, the Communications Assistant’s duties are as follows:


Digital Communications

o  Manage websites for both organizations, including editing and updating content

o  Analyze and report website analytics and metrics

o  Create, curate and manage all published content (images, videos and written) via social media accounts

o  Manage social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn)

o  Manage monthly blog calendar

o  Develop content, manage and publish the WPO blog

o  Create images and graphics for social media


Sponsor Communications

o  Manage and coordinate online branding for sponsors and partners (update logos and links, etc.)

o  Manage and update editorial calendar


Marketing and Public Relations

o  Pull media lists from contact database

o  Create and distribute e-blasts

o  Manage distribution of press releases via Cision and PR Newswire

o  Communicate and follow up on ProfNet and other media inquiries with members

o  Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis

o  Organize and track media coverage and monitor cumulative reach for quarterly reporting

o  Manage marketing collateral including infographics and press kits 

o  Announce new members and Chapter Chairs via press release templates


Advertising

o  Update print and online advertising for WPO/WPEO programs


Research

o  Create, edit and distribute surveys

o  Tabulate results and analyze metrics


Special Events

o  Create layout of all event programs

o  Manage signature programs including the Done Deals challenge

o  Manage registrations for both paid and complimentary events

o  Report registration numbers for all events and programs

o  Organize event photography and distribute images to relevant parties

o  Organize, promote and manage webcasts with keynotes, speakers and sponsors

o  Develop event emails – design, layout, and distribution


Internal Communications

o  Compile, write and distribute monthly newsletter


Other duties as assigned


Skills:

  • Expertise in Word, Powerpoint and Excel are required
  • Familiarity with InDesign is a plus
