  • Our nationally accredited Children’s Advocacy Center program ensures that children affected by abuse receive prompt, respectful, compassionate and comprehensive care in one safe, child-friendly place.
  • Our Learn & PlayGroups™ are specialized, community-based, and for parents and children together.  Through our innovative, specially designed Curriculum, our experienced facilitators bolster the protective factors to make families strong and children safe, strengthening the parent/child bond through developmentally appropriate, play-based learning.
  • Utilizing the Stewards of Children® Training program, the Center offers practical child sexual abuse prevention training for the Alexandria community.

The Center is an In-Person Workplace operating out of the Del Pepper Community Resource Center at 4850 Mark Center Drive, Alexandria VA. The CAC Clinical Case Manager is a new position within the organization and will require a high amount of initiative, creativity, and adaptability.  They will be responsible for assessing the needs, evaluating the circumstances, and determining the services for referrals from a child maltreatment perspective. The CAC Clinical Case Manager will also provide direct services to children and families, as well as provide consultations and work collaboratively as a member of Alexandria’s Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT).


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Ability to be independently licensed as a Professional Counselor or Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Must be able to plan, manage and establish a professional working environment within areas of responsibility.
  • Must possess the ability to identify problems and implement solutions for operational and organizational issues. ·       
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations and professionals.
  • High comfort with technology, particularly MS Office applications, and the internet.
  • Ability to pass criminal background check and child protective services registry search.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience and knowledge of CACs & MDTs.
  • Experience providing direct services to children (0-18) and their families.
  • Bilingual, particularly Spanish, Amharic, Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Pashtu, Urdu.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • To meet with children and non-offending caregivers who come in for forensic interviews and provide information and support during and after interviews.
  • Provide the child and non-offending family members direct services and referrals to other needed supportive services.
  • Provide assessments for child victims of trauma and utilize standardized assessment measures to identify trauma-related symptoms and resiliency.
  • Conduct weekly support groups for children and families.
  • Provide trauma-focused, evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy to child and youth victims and non-offending caregivers to reduce trauma symptoms and build resiliency.
  • Provide therapeutic services, conduct evaluations/provide recommendations, administer and interpret assessment instruments, develop treatment plans, and complete documentation. As well as remain current on trauma treatment practices.
  • Contribute and participate as a member of the CAC’s MDT.
  • Work collaboratively with MDT partners, reviewing clinical and psychological evaluations and providing consultation on cases as needed.
  • Refer clients with non-trauma related mental health concerns to appropriate community providers as needed to ensure access to indicated treatment and services.
  • Maintain orderly, accurate, HIPAA-compliant case records, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes and termination summaries.
  • Effectively compile and prepare statistical reports for grants, case records, data, and input information into identified software.
  • Maintain current licensure and/or certifications.
  • Attend all required staff meetings, case reviews, trainings, and conferences.   
  • Attend clinical supervision sessions with the clinical supervisor.
  • Support and participate in the Center’s fundraising efforts and community engagement events.
