Responsible for overseeing events, outreach, and programs designed to engage KSU’s 110,000 alumni across their entire life cycle, helping to contribute to building a culture of philanthropy within this constituency. Kennesaw State University’s Alumni Relations program is critical to advancing the university’s mission. Our alumni relations programs serve to engage and inform our current and future alumni, involve them as volunteers in meaningful ways, strengthen their pride and attachment to KSU, and become a part of our overall culture of philanthropy, especially through the Annual Fund. Support of the Annual Fund at all levels from alumni and others is crucial to increasing the pool of unrestricted dollars available to the University. This position will assist with the planning and executing of strategic engagement for alumni. Travel between the Kennesaw Campus and the Marietta Campus is an expectation in order to maintain departmental presence on both campuses. Responsible for and assist with measuring engagement and participation goals in relation to overall ROI for the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as liaison for the KSU Alumni Board of Directors
  • Prepare and administer department budget, including reconciliation and reporting
  • Develop, manage, and execute the Alumni Survey every three years, and alumni engagement benchmarking yearly
  • Working with Deans and Department Chairs, develop strategy and implementation plan for customized alumni engagement per Department/Unit/College
  • Partner with Admissions, Career Services, and other departments and the University to plan the growth and accessibility of networking opportunities for students and alumni
  • Serve as the relationship manager for Nationwide Partnership
  • Develop and solicit department sponsorship opportunities
  • Track, evaluate and, measure activities and events to develop departmental annual report
  • Serve as staff liaison for Student Competition Teams program and Commencement ceremonies
  • Work with Advancement Communications Team to develop and distribute Winsgpan, the department’s e-newsletter
  • Create and sustain a working partnership with colleagues in Annual Giving to allow for the appropriate level of coordination and collaboration in efforts to increase alumni giving participation
  • Strategize with Gift Officers to facilitate moves management process for alumni prospects and donors
  • Supervise staff

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge/demonstrated ability in using a CRM database, preferably Raiser’s Edge
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with others
  • Ability to network and foster relationships with individuals across campus
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to relate to a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Some travel, evening and weekend work will be required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in fundraising and development
