The Outreach Community Counseling Centers are embedded in neighborhood resource centers and partner closely with schools in three communities. Counseling services at Outreach are collaborative, strengths-based, team-oriented, systems-focused and affordable.
The Bilingual Therapist/Middle School Intervention Team Member is responsible for carrying a caseload of 10-15 high risk middle school students on site at Leman Middle School. This position is also responsible for collaborating with the school’s in school suspension team to integrate clinical support and engagement in the program.
Additional responsibilities include facilitating student prevention groups; participating in parent engagement activities; maintaining strong school and community contacts to facilitate excellent coordination of services and the maintenance of case records and client roster information.
Bilingual (Spanish/ English) with ability to provide therapy in Spanish. Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field. A minimum of two years of experience in systemic interventions with youth; ability to navigate the educational, legal, and mental health delivery systems; sensitivity to the needs of a low-income, culturally diverse population. Valid IL driver’s license, insurance, reliable vehicle and good driving record. Microsoft Word/ Excel. A commitment to Outreach Community Ministries’ Statement of Mission and Faith.
