Position: Seeking a strategic and inspiring growth-focused leader who enjoys working in a dynamic and collaborative environment and is skilled at organizational development and program management for a nonprofit that is rapidly scaling to advance the participation of early career scientists and engineers in policymaking.

ABOUT NATIONAL SCIENCE POLICY NETWORK:

The mission of the National Science Policy Network is to catalyze the engagement of early career scientists and engineers in policymaking by fostering community, training the next generation of leaders, and empowering advocates for the role of science in society.

Since its founding in 2018 by a few passionate graduate students NSPN has rapidly emerged as a vibrant and engaged national network of talented early-career scientists and engineers. In just two years, we have:

  • Cultivated a national network of 1200+ scientists and engineers from 44 U.S. states and territories, and 60 Chapters in cities and on university campuses;
  • Created the first-ever National Science Policy Symposium for early career scientists and engineers, with over 500 attendees annually;
  • Provided more than $100,000 in Microgrants and scholarship funds to support science policy, advocacy, communication, and professional development activities amongst early career scientists and engineers across the country.

The National Science Policy Network is currently led by four part-time Co-Directors and one full-time Programs and Operations Coordinator. Sixteen elected Regional and Committee Chairs make up the rest of the leadership team, managing teams of early career scientist engineers Member volunteers who drive NSPN’s programs and initiatives. As an organization created by and for early career scientists it is critical to establish an organizational structure and governance model that continues to prioritize, engage, and develop early career scientist engineers leaders while also creating space to expand the capacity of a creative staff which can drive the organization forward for a sustainable future.

The National Science Policy Network is an independent operating project of the nonprofit umbrella organization, Multiplier, a nationally recognized nonprofit with a growing portfolio of innovative initiatives that conserve and protect a healthy, sustainable, resilient and equitable world.
