Summary

Encompass’s Tyler House program has a position open for a licensed Therapist who is committed to providing high quality clinical services to youth who are working to return to family-based permanent placements. Applicants registered with BBS with residential experience will be considered. Tyler House was one of the first residential youth programs in the State to be certified under the new short-term residential therapeutic program (STRTP) guidelines. Also CARF-accredited, Tyler House serves up to six youth within a trauma-informed, youth-focused model. The Head of Service provides individual, group, and family therapy to all youth, maintains audit-quality MediCal documentation, and plays an important role within the Tyler House leadership team as the manager of compliance with State regulations. Salary range $65,000-75,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

The STRTP Head of Service is:

-Passionate about being of service to our community and working with youth

-Well versed in services grounded in youth voice and choice and trauma informed care

-Excited about being a part of a dynamic team that is shifting what it means to receive residential treatment

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Ensure compliance with STRTP regulations, including completion of all documentation within required timelines, State and County audits/visits, and oversight of policies and procedures

-Provide therapy (individual, group, family) to all Tyler House residents (up to six)

-Provide intakes and conduct assessments

-Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans that are dictated by the CANS assessment

-Develop exit/transition plans with clients and in collaboration with CFT members

-Provide referrals for ancillary services and coordinate services with other health care providers

-Adhere to all MediCal and STRTP documentation requirements

-Communicate effectively and be able to use current technology in areas such as session notes, assessments, treatment plans, incident reports, correspondence with community service providers

-Support Tyler House leadership team through collaboration, feedback, and other positive communication opportunities

Minimum Qualifications

-Licensed therapist (will consider BBS-registered interns with relevant leadership experience)

-Minimum 2 years’ experience providing individual, group, and family therapy with youth and their families; residential experience preferred

-Experience with evidenced based practice for mental health treatment services

-Experience collaborating with partner agencies (Family & Children’s Services and Probation preferred)

-Demonstrated work experience using a trauma informed approach in working with clients who have complex trauma, including substance use disorders and highly acute symptomology

-Demonstrated work experience successfully working in collaborative teams

-Approaches challenges with curiosity, inquiry, and as a life-long learner

-Ability to complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner (experience with MediCal strongly preferred)

-Strong skill set regarding clinical ethics, boundaries, and role clarity with clients

-Applicant must have active driver’s license and the ability to drive clients

-Experience with electronic health records preferred, strong computer literacy and writing skills

Wages & Benefits

Salary range $65,000-75,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
