The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, Inc. (SOLEIF) is a non-profit organization committed to the restoration and preservation of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The American Family Immigration History Center is a Genealogy Focused Research Center located on Ellis Island. Visitors come to search our database for the arrival records of passengers entering the Port of New York between 1820-1957. The Center operates 7 days a week as part of the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration.
We are currently seeking a CSR/Research Assistant to guide the visitors in their search of immigrant records as well as assist in processing any associated documents or other purchases.
Successful candidates should have excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact with the public in significant numbers. They should be tech savvy and familiar with database and CRM and POS programs. Bilingual or multi-lingual ability is an asset. Interest in Genealogy/History/Geography is a plus.
This position requires clearing a federal background check and will require travel between Ellis Island, Liberty Island and Battery Place.
This is a part-time position that can lead to a full-time position.
