Do you want to help make the world a better place with your experience as a diversity, equity and inclusion professional? We're seeking a fixed-term Project Officer for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), for a duration of one year,
with the Human Resources
team. The role can be based in New York, Washington D.C, London, or Berlin. The Human Resources (HR)
team, comprised of 60+ members, sits in our Berlin, London, and New York offices and supports OSF's global network of foundations, which spans 40 countries. The team is comprised of regionally-focused generalists as well HR specialists working in Talent Development; Human Resources Information System (HRIS); Compensation & Benefits; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; and Recruitment. As a Project Officer for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Open Society, you will:
What we are looking for:
- Implement long-term and short-term projects relating to disability inclusion across the global network;
- Support the DEI team with the development of ongoing inclusion training and programming;
- Collaborate closely with internal partners, including the Disability Inclusion Working Group, hub and regional office directors, and people managers to coordinate and advise on issues pertaining to disability inclusion;
- Draft regular communications and updates to share with the organization and its key stakeholders;
- Determine performance indicators and track metrics to evaluate progress and efficacy;
- Support the implementation of transformative mental health initiatives across the network;
- Manage the ongoing rollout of the disability inclusion training program for managers and general staff;
- Support staff as they seek disability-related accommodations.
Desirable (but not required):
- Expertise in the field of diversity, equity and inclusion, especially disability inclusion and access to a network of resources and references to support this work;
- Excellent program management skills;
- Solid understanding of cultural differences and a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with people from a diverse set of backgrounds within a complex organization;
- A demonstrable ability to use discretion and judgment regarding sensitive and confidential issues;
- Proven record of prioritizing a wide range of assignments and consistently delivering quality results in high-pressure, fast-paced environments;
- Commitment to continuous learning and growth in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, antiracism, and social justice;
- Commitment to listening and working with humility; ways of working that are respectful to all people; and that support space and voice for all diverse perspectives in our workplace.
- Experience with DEI and Organizational Effectiveness training preferred;
- Solid verbal and written communications in English with multilingual abilities a plus.
