Independent Environments, Inc.
Independent Environments, Inc. (IEI) is a non-profit corporation supporting adults who experience developmental disabilities at home and in the community. IEI currently serves more than 25 people in Eugene, Oregon.
It is our mission to assist the people we support in living healthy and happy lives by fully participating in home, community and family life. IEI brings this mission to life by expanding the horizons and enhancing the quality of life for the people we support as well as their families, friends, our employees and our community.
IEI is proud to have beautiful, well-kept homes and long-term employees who truly enjoy and value what they do. IEI is a unique, values driven organization. We are small by choice, following a slow and carefully orchestrated model of growth. We believe that while growth is healthy, maintaining quality of life for the people we support is essential.
Since it was founded in 1979, IEI has worked to create a home for each person we support that meets the person's needs and adapts as those needs change. This person-centered approach has become a tradition at IEI that has helped many people overcome adversity. From support with household tasks to teaching the skills a person wants to learn, our homes and the support professionals we employ are here to help create a healthy, safe and happy home environment for each person and their unique situation.
Part of creating person centered environments at IEI also includes helping the people we support become valued members of the community where they live. Whether that is finding fun things to do, getting to and from work, or taking the trip of a lifetime, the support professionals we employ are here to help each person get out and do the things they enjoy.
Right now, IEI is also working hard to develop a new and innovative program to help the people we support find meaningful employment. Stay tuned for more information and opportunities for you to help.
