About Us

The Brooklyn Waldorf School provides an extraordinary Waldorf education in an urban environment for children in Parent-Child through Eighth grade.

The School has been in a period of growth and expansion since its inception in 2004. Our beautiful home since 2010 is a historic property known as “Claver Castle” in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. We offer the full Waldorf curriculum complete with gym, theater, terrace gardens and outdoor play spaces. Our community consists of creative and highly participative parents who support our teachers and administrative staff. The Grades program is enriched by special subject teachers in orchestra, chorus, eurythmy, handwork, music, games, Spanish, and Chinese. The Brooklyn Waldorf School is a full WECAN member and an AWSNA developing school.

The Anthroposophic community in New York City and State is very vibrant and includes The Anthroposophic Society, Biodynamic Farms, Camphill Communities, The Threefold Education Center, Sunbridge College, and a number of area Waldorf Schools.
