Catholic Worker Farm of Sheep Ranch
The Catholic Worker Farm of Sheep Ranch, California provides retreats for people living with HIV and AIDS throughout the year, and camps for folks with disabilities during the summer. The eighty-acre farm is east of San Francisco on the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range—an absolutely beautiful setting. The farm seeks volunteers to help with the retreats through assisting with meals and by providing companionship to the guests. The farm has a big garden, an apple orchard, chickens, and goats that volunteers can help maintain. The community was established thirty years ago, and has been a variety of sizes. It is now looking to grow with young folks. With the growth of the community more garden and livestock opportunities are available. Room and board are provided.
