  • Mission

Mile Strong Kids is an 501(c)(3) nonprofit established for the purpose of creating fun but challenging endurance events for children in the San Antonio community, with the goal of expanding throughout Texas where childhood obesity rates are on the rise. We intend to make these events accessible and affordable (with the goal of making them free through contributions, donations, sponsorships, and volunteerism) for all children. We aim to motivate kids to exercise and, in turn, combat diseases associated with obesity, such as Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure.

    About Us

Mile Strong Kids will organize mud runs, obstacles races, biathlons, triathlons, and regular runs a mile long at schools, parks, and other venues, where kids will have the opportunity to challenge themselves both physically and mentally. However, our goal is also to make these events fun and fulfilling. Children who complete our events will be recognized as "Superheroes" of the Mile Strong Kids Organization, whose mission is to combat the "destructive" forces of Obesity (diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure). Upon completing an event, every child participant will earn an incentive. With continuous participation, their names may also appear in our "Superheroes Wall" on our website. The purpose of Mile Strong Kids is to motivate children to go out there and exercise. We believe that organizing events that are exciting, yet accessible, is the way to accomplish this.
