About Us

The Fairfield Museum is a dynamic and progressive non-profit educational organization that provides a wide array of engaging educational programs, cultural exhibitions and special events that teach regional history, celebrate our shared heritage, and prepare students and adults to be better informed citizens and more active participants in their community. We believe in the power of history to inspire the imagination, stimulate thought and transform society.

The Museum’s collection and comprehensive archives are one of the most important humanities resources in southwestern Connecticut and a valuable resource for teaching social studies and related disciplines. Museum exhibits attract more than 30,000 visitors a year and our educational programs serve more than 6,000 students from across southwestern Connecticut. We are a vital source of educational opportunities for underserved students from Bridgeport and Norwalk.
