Rx Democracy!

Founded by the National Physicians Alliance, Rx Democracy is a nationwide non-partisan network advancing voter and civic engagement through health care. In turn, we seek to demonstrate how constructive civic engagement can improve the health of the nation. In its inaugural year, the Rx Democracy network registered over 26,000 voters in doctors' offices and clinics across the nation.

Rx Democracy members believe that health and civic efficacy are interdependent. We believe that individuals can effectively improve the health of their communities and the nation through constructive participation in the democratic process and by understanding the relationship between how we live, work, learn and play and our health.

Clinicians in hospitals, health centers, and doctors' offices across America have a unique and powerful opportunity to improve the civic health of the nation. We promote clinician-citizenship through every stage of professional training and mobilize the public and providers to help health care perform its civic role.
