About Us

Mission: Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty by preparing underserved students to be the first in their famlies to go to college through after school programs that begin in third grade.

Vision: Every child shall have access to higher education, not limited by culture or status, resulting in a thriving community and a better world.

Founded in 1996, Barrio Logan College Institute (BLCI) is a non-profit organization whose main priority is to positively impact the lives of San Diego youth and the trajectory of their futures.

BLCI has created a college readiness model that has positive, proven outcomes in enrolling students in college and helping them be successful while there. We offer academic support, emotional intelligence building, and college and career exploration. To date, 100% of our students have enrolled in college.

At BLCI, we understand the need for our services to fulfill our mission of Breaking the Cycle of Poverty through education. Our commitment to developing youth in the most underserved communities remains stronger today than ever before. With your support, we can continue to ensure that more students receive our critical services to achieve their academic goals.
