About Us

VOLTA VOLUNTEERS FOUNDATION (VVF) Is a Non-Profit Non-Governmental Organization that support development of Women, Ophans, Street Children and rural community projects in Ghana. The organisation was formed in the form of volunteerism through helping of the poor in communities.


ORPHANS VVF identifies orphans in the region who are incapable of looking after themselves in school, & helps them by taking them back to school paying their school fees, providing shelter, clothing and stationary up to High School Level.

HEALTH VVF educates deprived communities in the region on Health related issues in Education on reproductive health issues. eg. HIV/AIDS, STI'S, VISUAL PROBLEMS, SIX KILLER DISEASES ETC.

EDUCATION VVF assist deprived schools by teaching them using volunteers to teach subjects that have no teachers. We also provide infrastructure to deprived schools eg. Dual Desks, blackboards etc.

COMMUNITY PROJECT We help self initiated community projects in school building, Private Places of Convenience, Health Posts, and Community Library.

In all these activities VVF relies on both Local and International volunteers some of which come in person or send funds for our projects. VVF Volunteers also then depends on the charitable donations of individuals and Agencies, as well as volunteers and partners, to help us carry out our work.

ENVIRONMENTAL SITUATION Ghana has two main weather climates, the rain and the dry seasons. Volunteers will stay in a small community DODOWA Salem. DODOWA Salem is 45 minutes drive from Accra. Dodowa is in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana and 45 hours drive from Accra Ghana's capital city. Dodowa Salem is a Farming community and its socio-economic activities are basically farming, Dodowa Salem is surrounded by many green vegetation mountains. It is a very neat sanitation community and very accessible.

PARTICIPATION COST To participate in VVF programmes, Interested volunteer pays US $550.00 per Month.THE PROGRAMME FEE OF U.S.$550.00(per month)

COST COVERS: Airport pick-up and drop-off. First Night's Bed and Breakfast. Transportation to placement. Accommodation. Breakfast,lunch and dinner every day. Weekend tours (Sight Seeing) Volunteers are place with Host families (contact the Country Office Project Officer for more information)

VOLUNTEERS EXPERIENCE Come to think of staying with the local people of Ghana having the best of hospitalities surrounding you. Learn their way of life (food, dressing, dancing, music, communication skills and local dialects) learn local farming methods on small scale by using local farming tools like hoe and cutlass only as a farming working materials. Teaching experience affords you the interruption with kids, learn new activities and games. VVF also organizes weekend tours around Ghana to tourist attraction sites during your stay for all work of volunteering.
