  • Mission

Palisades Parks Conservancy is the nonprofit partner of the Palisades Interstate Parks system, a network of 21 parks and 8 historic sites as diverse as its users. We partner with the Palisades Interstate Park Commission (PIPC) to protect the natural and historic public lands of the 130,000-acre Palisades Interstate Park system. We are an independent 501c3 that raises funds and advocates for investment and conservation of the parks for future generations. Through partnerships and programs, we expand awareness, access, and usability of public parks for a diverse range of visitors.

    About Us

Created as a “friends” group in 2001, today we are an independent 501(c)(3) that raises funds, undertakes capital projects, develops partnerships and programs to appeal to a wide range of visitors, and advocates to protect the park system. We are committed to preserving and protecting the rich history and biodiversity of America's first bi-state park system by connecting people, parks, and history.

    Our approach:

Promote our parks: We conduct public engagement and communications initiatives and events to ensure residents and visitors know about all that our park system has to offer.

Steward our parks: We provide financial and technical assistance to support programming and special projects that preserve and improve our parks and historic sites.

Protect our parks: We work to ensure our parks have the resources and support to flourish for the benefit of all, through fundraising, partnerships, advocacy, and more.

Activate our parks: We connect and partner with parks, local organizations, and community groups to support collaborative place-based programming.
