PARTICIPATORY COMMUNITY BASED INTERVENTIONS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST HIV/AIDS
ECPO is a grassroots charitable, non-profit, non-governmental organization, whose main focus is the strengthening, empowering and capacity building of communities, to develop and use their competitive knowledge and competence in tackling challenges of poverty and underdevelopment in Kenya.
Established in Uasin Gishu in September 2001under registration Number OP 218/051/2001/029/1974. The organization evolved out of both the communities concern about unprecedented levels of abject poverty, individuals, family and community. Disenchantment as a result of the growing levels of abject poverty and the debilitating impact of HIV/AIDS, Malaria as well as the result of environmental degradation in the Rift Valley, Nyanza, Eastern and Western Provinces in Kenya.
It was mainly the brainchild of the founder, Mr. Evans C. Jumah-Adiedo who is based in Eldoret Kenya. Meanwhile, the organization already has 13 paid and 4 volunteering staff.
ECPO encourages the spirit of volunteering to reinforce intercultural ideas on community development.
