The mission of SEED-link is to work alongside indigenous peoples and communities to protect their land and lifeways in the face of rapid changes associated with globalization.
SEED-link works on two connected fronts to actualize this mission. In the Ecuadorian Amazon, we support indigenous-led, community-based efforts in the areas of economic sustainability, leadership development, and human rights. In North America, we support educational and network-building efforts to increase awareness of and attention to the dire situation faced by indigenous peoples of the Amazon. On both fronts, we view the recuperation of indigenous and popular knowledge to be central to defending the dignity and lifeways of different groups of people.
