For 35 years, NeighborWorks® Alaska
(NWA), a housing and community development nonprofit, has walked thousands of
Alaskans from vulnerability to security. Housing is the driving force for
transformational change in our communities.
NWA is seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead our expansion efforts. The ideal candidate will have a passion for community engagement, thrive in adapting to new challenges and environments, be adept at building and maintaining partnerships across a variety of sectors and cultures, and be skilled at motivating a large (70 plus strong), highly dedicated, energetic, knowledgeable staff.
PRIMARY ROLES OF THE NEIGHBORWORKS ALASKA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Strategist -- The Executive Director of NeighborWorks® Alaska must be knowledgeable about the internal and external forces that influence NeighborWorks® Alaska's future and its ability to remain a sustainable force for change.
Visionary Leader -- The Executive Director must champion NeighborWorks® Alaska's culture and values and must believe in possibilities and help develop a compelling vision to continue our organizational growth.
External Influencer -- The Executive Director must embrace the challenge of continuing NeighborWorks® Alaska’s collaborative leadership at the forefront of the community needs dialogue.
Organization Builder -- The Executive Director must help to ensure that NeighborWorks® Alaska's culture attracts smart, knowledgeable, competent people, and ensures that they feel empowered to make a difference at our organization.
