Mission
The Kennedy Center will: Embody, stimulate, and transmit the values of freedom, creativity, expression, and joy inherent in the performing arts-the opportunity to dream, to risk, to excel. Present and create programming of the highest standards that reflect the diverse cultural life of the United States and that recognizes and nourishes our international heritage encourage, nurture and develop an audience for the performing arts from the widest possible population. We welcome, value, support and respect unconditionally our artists, funders, customers, visitors, employees and volunteersSet the standard of performance for programming and management in the performing arts.
About Us
A person who, beyond regular paid employment and normal day-to-day responsibilties, chooses to contribute time and service as a member of the Kennedy Center personnel team to assist the Center in the accomplishment of its mission.Friends volunteer services operates every day of the year unless otherwise indicated. Daily shifts are from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.; 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.; 6 p.m .- 9 p. m. Areas include gift shops, tour guides, information desk, administration and education.
