Future Voters of America
FVA is a non-profit, youth-led organization that introduces New York City youth ages 12 to 17 to the political process. Our student leaders actively engage themselves with elected officials on the radio, television and newspapers, and work behind the scenes to make their voices heard. Our program has been fostering patriotism and national spirit among future voters since 1995.
Our flagship event is the Annual New York City Youth Congress in the Spring, where young people from around New York City set the Future Voters Agenda. For 2006, we are working on implementing a Youth Court in South Jamaica, upstarting a FVA Newsletter for youth by youth, and most notably, lowering the municipal voting age to 16.
Our supporters include many notable figures, including U.S. Senator Hillary R Clinton, NYC Mayor Michael R Bloomberg, and NY State Senators Martin Golden and Elizabeth Krueger.
