Mission: Africare works to improve the quality of life in Africa.

Vision: Africare's core expertise in community engagement, capacity building, locally-driven behavior change and innovative public-private partnerships empowers project participants with the knowledge and tools to achieve a sustainable path to prosperity. By integrating our core expertise with our technical specialties of Agriculture and Health, Africare's projects leverage local resources for under-served communities to solve their own development challenges, always prioritizing the cross-cutting themes of Economic Development; Nutrition; Water, Sanitation & Hygiene; Women’s Empowerment; and Youth Engagement. In the United States, Africare’s public outreach promotes understanding and dialogue about African history, culture and development issues.

Africare is a registered 501(c)(3), non-profit organization. Since our founding in 1970, Africare has benefited tens of millions of men, women and children through thousands of projects in 36 African countries.
