Yafa Cultural Centre
The Yafa Cultural Center is a non-profit educational and cultural organization it were established at 1996 and registered in the ministry of culture at 1998 to serving the residents of Balata refugee camp in Nablus, West Bank, Palestine. The Balata refugee camp lies on the Eastern edge of the city of Nablus, situated in at the heart of the North of the West Bank. This camp was established in 1953, and is populated by refugees who were deported from 65 towns and villages from Yafa area, including the cities of Al Lod and Al Ramleh. with a total population of more than 20,000 persons,The camp is the largest in the West Bank by population. The number of people currently benefit from the new YCC are 3,000 males and 3,000 females for a total of 6,000. The major focus is providing services to women and children. YCC Provide educational classes to the community, English classes, art classes drama classes, computer workshops for men, women, and children Provide space for recreational activities for the community. Provide human rights education to the community,(focus on advancing children’s and women’s rights),Provide cultural activities for the community. Provide an office to administer the various YCC activities and coordinate with all groups serving the Balata refugee camp.
