Citizenship Law Related Education Program
The Citizenship Law Related Education Program (CLREP) was established in 1975 to promote law-related education in public and private schools. The mission of CLREP is to "Bring the law to life" for Maryland's youth.
The program has four goals:
(1) Improving students’ and teachers’ knowledge and understanding of the law, legal profession, and courts through real-world experiences; (2) Fostering a more constructive attitude toward civic responsibility and its role in the law; and (3) Preparing young people for “life beyond high school” through the attainment of fundamental life skills, (4) Decreasing youth crime through diversion, community restitution, and structured, educational out-of-school activities.
