About Us

Northwest Youth Services (NWYS) collaborates with at-risk, runaway and homeless youth to foster self-reliance. NWYS specializes in helping marginalized youth. For runaway, homeless, “throw-away,” abused, neglected and at-risk youth and young adults, we are their lifeline. We have offices in Bellingham, WA, and Mt. Vernon, WA, and serve young people in Whatcom and Skagit Counties. We provide the following for youth and young adults, ages 13-24: Housing options for teens 13-17 though The PAD Shelter; Transitional Living and Permanent Housing for young adults 18-24; Street Outreach to connect youth to services; Vocational preparation for jobs and educational support, including our We Creations art and upcyling studio and our We Grow garden; Restorative justice through Teen Court, a diversion program for juvenile offenders; and support for LGBTQ youth through our Queer Youth Project.
