    Do SlumThing's purpose is the prevention and relief of poverty or financial hardship among underprivileged communities in India and worldwide by providing or assisting in the provision of education, training, grants and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income and be self-sufficient.

    About Us

    Do SlumThing was initially created to help the efforts of Shahadat Ali to educate and support children living in the slums of Jaipur, India.

    For more than a decade Shahadat has been a full-time yet unpaid teacher and surrogate parent to literally hundreds of impoverished slum dwellers. He divides his time between two or more locations - Parva School situated atop a rubbish tip to the north of the city and latterly the grandly titled Zindagi Foundation which currently has no premises beyond a store room in a neighbour’s house.
