ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF BAKERSFIELD
Mission
Assistance League volunteers transforming the lives of children and adults through community programs
About Us
What started out as a small group of teachers collecting, laundering and mending children's clothing to be distributed to the children of need in their classes has become a signature program for the nation wide philanthropy organization called Assistance League. We now cloth between 2500-3000 children in Bakersfield and outlining areas each year by collection and selling used items in our thrift store, the Bargain Box. We also donate Teddy bears to organization that deal with children in stressful situations, provide five $2000 scholarships to graduating teens and donate items to other philanthropic organizations.
