The International Institute for Sport and Olympic History (IISOH) was incorporated in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a non-profit educational, literary and research corporation under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code in order to operate a Library and Museum devoted to the History of Sport, Physical Education, Recreation, Dance, Sport in Art and the Olympic Games.
(NOTE: On November 8, 2012 the IISOH amended the Articles of Incorporation and changed its name to: International Institute for Sport History in a confidential settlement agreement after being sued by the United States Olympic Committee for using the word "Olympic" in its name).
We plan to build a facility in central Pennsylvania that will house the Library and Museum collections as well as sports faclities that will allow visitors to physically participate in each activity. There will also be a theater for the history of dance, outdoor recreational facilities and playgrounds, indoor sports facilities for most sports, a large restaurant and outdoor cafe.
Basically: the IISOH is a large Museum/sports complex with a specialized subject research library.
