North Corktown Neighborhood Association
Mission
The North Corktown Neighborhood Association (NCNA) is a resident-led nonprofit dedicated to stabilizing and strengthening North Corktown through equitable, community-driven development. Our mission is to ensure that long-time residents can remain in their homes, access essential resources, and actively shape the future of their neighborhood.
We advance this mission by creating permanently affordable housing, preserving existing homes, expanding access to fresh food, and transforming vacant land into vibrant, ecologically resilient public spaces. Through all of our work, we center community ownership, long-term stewardship, and the belief that neighborhoods thrive when the people who live there lead the way.
About Us
We serve a diverse community that includes long-time residents, families, seniors on fixed incomes, and neighbors navigating housing and food insecurity. Our programs are designed to meet immediate needs while also building long-term stability and opportunity. This includes weekly food distribution through our Community Care Food Initiative, home repair support for legacy residents, and the development of permanently affordable housing through our community land trust.
Beyond direct services, NCNA plays a broader role as a neighborhood partner and fiduciary, supporting collaborative efforts across Corktown and Hubbard Richard. We work alongside residents, local organizations, and institutions to steward land, improve public spaces, and advocate for development that reflects community priorities.
Our values center on equity, stewardship, and collective ownership. We are committed to preserving the character of our neighborhoods while ensuring that growth benefits the people who already call these places home. This means prioritizing resident voice, investing in sustainable and climate-resilient solutions, and creating pathways for long-term affordability and access.
At our core, NCNA is about building a connected, supported, and future-forward neighborhood—together.
