Pemon Health Inc.
Pemón Health Inc. connects passionate college students with indigenous Pemón villagers in an effort to improve community health and well-being in a sustainable and cost-effective way. We offer an international internship experience that empowers students to design, develop, and implement programs in Pemón communities under the guidance of Venezuelan health professionals and village leaders. Program Coordinators and Interns travel to rural Venezuela in order to contribute to the completion of long-term, sustainable health initiatives and build relationships with the community members.
Program Coordinators and Interns live in the Pemón village of Urimán, Venezuela and work with local leaders for 8-10 weeks at a time, where they will together engage in an effort to realize innovative and sustainable projects that improve health within the community. Past and current initiatives include a waste management system, an agricultural program, health education workshops, and the construction of a pre-school.
